Tennessee athletic department spokesman Tom Satkowiak confirmed Tuesday that forward Willie Carmichael had filled out the necessary paperwork to transfer and had been granted a release.
Carmichael, a 6-foot-8 forward from Apopka, Florida, averaged 3 points, 2.3 rebounds and 14.8 minutes per game while struggling with foul trouble as a freshman this past season.
