Ex-Bulls guard Brunson arrested after alleged sexual assault

Former Bulls guard Rick Brunson, a former Temple men's basketball star and a candidate to be the Owls' next assistant coach, was arrested in suburban Chicago on June 25 after an alleged sexual assault at a fitness center.

According to a Vernon Hills (Ill.) police report, Brunson grabbed an employee of Lifetime Fitness and was charged with attempted criminal sexual assault, criminal sexual abuse, and third-degree aggravated battery. A court date was not announced.

Brunson graduated from Temple in 1994 and played a decade of professional basketball. After retiring, he was a college assistant coach at Virginia and Hartford. He also worked on the staffs of the Denver Nuggets, Chicago Bulls, and Charlotte Bobcats.
